Family Court Services Director

Randy Flick is a graduate of Grace College and is a licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio.  Prior to coming to the court he worked for both the public and private sector and was honored as Social Worker of the Year, 1997-1998 1998.  He started with the court as an evaluator in 2000, became trained as both a mediator and a parent coordinator and eventually became the Director of Family Court Services in 2008.  As the Director he oversees the staff of five social workers, processes all referrals to mediation and evaluation, acts as a facilitator for the courts programs, speaks at colleges and other agencies regarding the court process and also carries a caseload of both evaluations and mediations.  He is currently serving as a liaison to the Judicial  College for the Supreme Court of Ohio, developing and creating training statewide for the social work staff in the state.  He also sat on the committee to develop the Supreme Court guidelines for Parent Coordination.  He is the past secretary to the Community Aids Network (CAN) of Summit County and volunteered with the Jaycees of Akron.  A native of the Pittsburgh area he has been a Summit County resident for over 45 years and is proud of the services that our county has to offer.  His favorite times are spent with his family and five dogs

Diane L. Dougherty was raised in Stark County, Ohio and graduated from Perry High School in 1978. In 1982, she graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She graduated from the University of Akron, School of Law in 1988 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar in May 1988.

Prior to graduation from law school, she worked as a paralegal with Amer, Cunningham, Brennan, Co., LPA and as a Bailiff for the Honorable Judge W. Don Reader in the Stark County Family Court. Diane was engaged in private practice for 28 years with an emphasis on criminal defense in the Federal and State systems, juvenile, domestic relations, civil litigation and bankruptcy matters.  She also served as a Guardian ad Litem in both Stark and Summit Counties, a Mediator for Summit County Juvenile Court and served on the Stark County Family Court’s Citizens’  Review Board for several years.  From January 2006 to January 2016, she served as a part-time magistrate in the Medina Municipal Court.  In February 2016, she joined the Summit County Common Pleas Court, General Division as a full-time Magistrate, Mediator and Judicial Attorney.  She joined the Summit County Domestic Relations Court in March of 2017.  She is a member of the Ohio Association of Magistrates, the Ohio Association of Domestic Relations Judges and the American Bar Association.

In her spare time Diane enjoys singing, walking her dogs, and all types of sports, especially golf and swimming.
