(AKRON, Ohio) – Judge Katarina Cook on Monday was identified as a member of a special review committee tasked with addressing racism and promoting racial equity in Summit County.
The Summit County Council on Monday passed legislation establishing membership of the special review committee which includes public officials, faith leaders, and community members. The committee will seek solutions to combat racism across county government, among other initiatives.
“These are concerning issues which must be addressed in all work environments,” Judge Cook said. “Especially in government, we need to set the standard.”
