Mr. Throckmorton, who assumed his position with the Court in early 1999, is an attorney whose primary area of expertise is in legal information technology issues.

Mr. Throckmorton currently serves as a member of the Ohio Courts Digital Signatures Project, beginning that assignment in April of 2000.  In August of 2000, Mr. Throckmorton was appointed by Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas Moyer to serve on the Technology Advisory Board of the Supreme Court of Ohio.  He also served as a member of the Steering Committee of the Ohio Courts Futures Commission and Co-Chair of that commission's Technology Task Force from March of 1997 through April of 2000.  Other accomplishments include service as Chair of the Implementation Committee for the Electronic Case Files Project for the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, and service as Chair and Vice-Chair for the Law Office Technology Committee of the Akron Bar Association.

Mr. Throckmorton is a 1993 graduate of the University of Akron School of Law who has published four technology related articles:

• Courts & the Internet: Electronic Filing & the Northern District of Ohio, published in the June 1996 issue of the Akron Bar Examiner Magazine;
• Windows 95 - Walk, Don't Run, published in the September/October 1996 issue of Ohio Lawyer; and
• Lawyers, Electronic Filing, Document Sharing, and Other Practical Uses for the Internet, which appeared in the May/June 1997 issue of Ohio Lawyer
• The Legal Marketplace of Ideas: Twenty First Century Lawyers (Speculation by Twentieth Century Minds), co-authored with Karen Kelly Grasso, published in the January, 2000 issue of the Akron Bar Examiner.
• The Akron Bar Association: One Hundred Twenty-Five Years: From the Inkwell to Digitized Documents and Beyond, published in the Akron Bar Association's 125th Anniversary Celebration publication.
